1950s London, Bill Nighy plays Mr Williams, a stiff-upper-lipped
accountant who takes stock of his life after receiving a
devastating then indulges in an evening of mild debauchery.
Later, encouraged by Miss Harris, his only female colleague,
he decides to do something, however modest, that will stand as
his legacy. A career best from Bill Nighy, this near-perfect film
