Martin McDonagh (Three Billboards) reunites the two unforgettable
stars from In Bruges, Brendon Gleeson and Colin Farrell, in his
latest offering, not surprisingly tipped for Oscar success.
Exquisitely constructed and beautifully filmed, it oscillates between
humour, heartbreak and the occasionally horrific. Set in 1923 on a
beautiful but isolated island off the west coast of Galway, the
storyline centres on two lifelong friends, one of whom decides to
sever this bond, a decision which escalates to shocking levels. Is
this is a microcosm of the mainland conflict, where a country is
now at war with itself?
