A fine comedy drama directed by Steven Soderbergh that centres on the “spectacular on-screen rapport and acting chemistry between lead stars Sir Ian McKellen and Michaela Coel” (Mark Kermode). The film, which follows a skilled forger (Coel) hired by opportunistic children (James Corden and Jessica Gunning) to complete the unfinished canvases of a famous aging artist (McKellen)in order to secure their inheritance, operates as a witty exploration of legacy versus financial value. Within an excellent screenplay, the cantankerous older artist and the mysterious assistant reassess themselves and each other, while pitting themselves against the greed of the family.
