Kokuhô is a gripping drama that features two Kabuki actors, who come from very different backgrounds: Kikuo, the son of a Yakuza (mafia) boss and Shunsuke, born in a family with a long tradition of Kabuki performers. Over five decades Kikuo navigates bitter rivalries, betrayals and triumphs alongside his master’s son. Kokuhô is a visual knockout that explores brotherhood, artistic devotion, professional jealousy and the price that artists pay for their craft.
